We offer education and support to help you take charge of your diabetes.  Good control has been proven to delay or prevent the uncomfortable sometimes life-threatening complications of diabetes.

How to contact us:

Physician’s referral:  Your doctor can send a referral letter along with recent bloodwork.    You will then be contacted by the centre and an appointment will be arranged for you.

Self Referral:  You may phone us.  An appointment will be set up for you. We will ask you to contact your doctor to have recent blood work sent to the centre.   Our phone number is 705-789-2311 ext. 2312 and ask for the diabetes centre.

Caregiver or Health Worker :  A  caregiver or health worker  may schedule an appointment for you and with your permission may attend an appointment  if you are unable to attend.

Our Mission:

The Diabetes Centre is funded through the Northern Diabetes Health Network.  Our mission is to provide accessible and comprehensive diabetes care and education services to the community as an integral part of Muskoka Algonquin Health Care.

Our Location:

We are located in the Howland Building on the hospital property.  The building is wheelchair accessible and there is handicapped parking available.  There is a $5.00 parking charge.
